Burlington, Vt: The Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children (VTAEYC) is proud to launch a new campaign to celebrate and amplify the voices of early childhood educators (ECEs) across Vermont. From May 5 through May 26, VTAEYC members are invited to participate by recording and sharing short videos that answer the question: “Why did you become an early childhood educator?”
This campaign, part of VTAEYC’s ongoing effort to elevate the early childhood educator workforce, encourages members to post their videos on social media using the hashtag #ProudToBeAnECE and tagging @vtaeyc. In return, participating members will receive a free, VTAEYC-branded yard sign to display at their home, early childhood education program, or office.
“We know every early childhood educator has a powerful story,” said Sharron Harrington, Executive Director of VTAEYC. “This campaign kicks off during Teacher Appreciation Week, which gives us a special opportunity to recognize the people behind this essential work. This campaign is about honoring those stories and showing Vermont just how passionate and committed our members are to the well-being and growth of young children. Their dedication is what inspires everything we do.”
How It Works:
-
VTAEYC members record a 15–60 second video sharing why they became an Early Childhood Educator
-
Post the video to social media using the hashtag #ProudToBeAnECE and tag @vtaeyc.
-
VTAEYC will deliver a yard sign as a thank-you to each participating member.
This initiative is open first to current VTAEYC members. For more information or to become a member, visit www.vtaeyc.org.
