3. For Model One, what commitments are the director/employee and sponsoring center required to make?

Director/employee’s commitment
As a scholarship recipient, the director/employee must attend classes and successfully complete a minimum of 9 credits during the contract term toward a degree in Early Childhood Education. The director/employee will contribute 10% of the cost of tuition and books for each course. The director/employee must agree to continue employment at her/his sponsoring center for an additional year upon the completion of each TEACH contract.

Sponsoring center’s commitment
The center must agree to sponsor the director by contributing 10% of the cost of tuition. The center must also agree to award the director a $500 bonus or a 1.5% raise upon successful completion of each scholarship contract. The center should be willing to provide the director with a flexible schedule so she/he can attend classes as needed.
